Updated: 25 minutes ago

Welcome to the first update of 2025! We're excited to introduce this new monthly blog format to keep you informed about all things Moonfrost—development updates, project news, and exciting upcoming features!

Big News: Early Access is Coming!

Moonfrost is launching into Early Access in Spring 2025! While the exact date is still TBA, Early Access means that Moonfrost will be publicly playable as a live-service game. Players will experience the core gameplay while we continue adding new features and polish, including homestead animals, pets, romance, and combat.

Confirmed features arriving with Early Access include fishing the collection album and a new character. Early Access will be a major milestone, packed with content, and we can't wait to share even more details with you!

If you're eager to explore the world, shape your own adventure, and be among the first to experience a game developed by one of the Stardew Valley (mobile) developers alongside the talented team at Oxalis Games, make sure to sign up and secure your spot for Early Access.

Important Disclaimer

We do not currently plan to reset player progress after launching Early Access. However, if resets are necessary, we will ensure that key progression elements carry over, and any purchases made will be preserved on your account.

Alpha Release 5 – Now Featuring Fishing!

Alpha Release 5 will remain playable until at least February 28th, 2025, possibly longer. We’re introducing fishing into this release! While it won't be tied to tasks or progression just yet, you'll get to experience it first-hand and provide feedback to help us refine the feature before it becomes a core part of the game.

Exclusive Reward for Early Players

Players who complete the main story tasks in Alpha Release 5 will unlock a special Fishing Gnome Blueprint—a permanent, account-bound reward. This unique item will never be available again, making it a true collector’s piece!

Live Operations: House Hunters Event

For those unfamiliar, Moonfrost features a unique Build Mode, similar to games like The Sims, where players can customize and design their homesteads. Since collection and rebuilding are central to the game, this mode plays a crucial role in progression.

House Hunters is a new time-limited event that lets players submit Build Mode creations for others to vote on. Players at Task 26 or later can participate in this exciting competition!

Two Event Types

  • Regular Events: Submit photos of your own homestead.

  • Sandbox Events (marked with a Palette icon): Build in a brand-new map where all unlocked Blueprints can be crafted instantly and for free!

The more Blueprints you own, the greater your creative possibilities. Keep completing tasks and checking special vending machines in the Village to expand your collection.

How to Participate (in- game)

  1. Press 'H' to enter House Hunters.

  2. Choose between Regular or Sandbox mode.

  3. Use Build Mode to create a scene that matches the theme.

  4. Capture your submission using hotkey 'C' or the Take A Photo button.

  5. Vote for other entries once the submission window closes.

  6. Check results and claim rewards!

Event Rewards

Initially, House Hunters rewarded players with Craftcoin and Tickets, but now, SHARDs are up for grabs! (Learn more about in-game currencies on our FAQ.)

The event has been a huge success, with hundreds of players submitting entries—even in closed Alpha! The creativity on display has been incredible. We’ve featured some of the top-voted entries below, and you can find even more on the Fan Creations page, and tagged on socials.
