Game Progression and Economy
As part of our economy and progression updates, we’ve introduced rarity traits. Moonfrost will feature nine rarity tiers, ranging from Common to Transcendent—each offering unique benefits.
If players want to min-max rewards and progression, we’ll be releasing a game whitepaper in the coming weeks to give everyone a chance to learn how the economy works before diving in.

Open Loot
The biggest benefit of our partnership with Open Loot is how it eliminates the typical barriers that make Web3 games intimidating for traditional players like crypto wallets, gas fees, and complex blockchain interactions.
Let’s break it down:
No Need for a Crypto Wallet – Your Items, No Extra Steps
Most Web3 games require setting up a crypto wallet (like MetaMask), which is like opening a new bank account just to play. With Open Loot, a secure wallet is created for you automatically—no setup, no seed phrases, just log in and play.
No Gas Fees – No Hidden Costs When You Trade or Buy
Web3 games usually charge “gas fees” for transactions. Open Loot removes these entirely you can buy, sell, and trade items without surprise costs. It just works.
NFT Ownership Without the Complexity – Think of Them as Game Items
NFTs mean your items are truly yours and tradable. But you don’t need to understand crypto to benefit. Open Loot handles the complexity so your items behave just like any other in-game gear except you can sell them.
Pay with Regular Money – No Need to Buy Crypto
Forget needing to buy crypto first. With Open Loot, you can use a credit card, PayPal, or standard payment methods just like any online store.
Blockchain Tech in the Background – You Just Play
You won’t have to manage wallets, approve blockchain transactions, or deal with delays. Play, earn, trade, and explore just like a traditional game. The only difference? You truly own your assets.
TL;DR – Open Loot makes it easy for Web2 players to enjoy the full benefits of Web3 gaming ownership, trading, and rewards with zero hassle.

Jase's Trip To GDC
Jase (our marketing community lead) flew to San Francisco for GDC (Game Developers Conference) to spend a week with other game enthusiasts, developers, content creators and awesome people who want to see gaming succeed.
He had several interviews (expect to see them in the coming weeks here is a glimpse), and attended the biggest Web3 events; Wolves Den, Ronin after-hours, Immutable Salon, Avalanche Meet, Solana Creator House and much more.
One of his highlights was seeing the Arbitrum Booth getting so much positive attention from players, enjoying games enhanced by web3 at the Game Developers Conference. Especially as we (Moonfrost) have showcased at similar traditional gaming events and had a similarly positive reception (Comic Con - EGX London 24).
Special shout out to Wolves DAO for getting Jase a GDC ticket <3

March FAQ
Q. How did you go from slow Alpha updates to rapid new features?
Previous Alpha builds focused on core systems. Releasing every 6–8 weeks was resource-intensive. We skipped AR6 to focus on delivering a feature-packed Early Access faster.
Q. What don’t you want Moonfrost to become?
We don’t want to lose the game first focus. Moonfrost is designed to be cozy, cool, and rewarding. That core vision won’t change.
Q. What was the most challenging part of developing fishing?
There wasn’t one specific challenge it was more about iterating with community feedback to create something fresh rather than copying existing fishing minigames. Making it fun even when you miss a catch was key.
Q. Can you raise fish?
Not yet but it’s something we’re considering for future updates.
Are there different rarities of fish? Yes! There’s a variety of loot to discover while fishing some common, some hidden. You’ll need to explore to find them all.
Q. Can you fish on the Mountain map, and will we use the same tools?
Absolutely! It’s one of the main purposes of the Mountain map. Some fish only spawn in certain areas or times of day so get exploring!
Q. Will boats be in Early Access?
Not right away, but they’re on the roadmap.
Q. How does resource trading affect scarcity and pricing?
In-game P2P trading isn’t live yet, but we’ll support it via Open Loot for certain items (NFTs), which will influence pricing and earning potential. More details coming in the whitepaper.
Q. Will there be a new mint with Open Loot?
Yes! We’ve always planned more NFT collections. The next wave will launch via Open Loot.
Q. When will the whitepaper be available?
Likely in April we’re finalizing the economy design now and will release it before Early Access.
Q. Will we see an economic model soon?
Yes! Expect an economic overview, model, and wiki by the end of April before Early Access goes live.
Q. Can we earn the $FROST token before it launches?
SHARDs allow players to earn and engage with Web3 features even before the $FROST token is live (post-TGE). So yes, you can begin earning before the token’s official release.
