Fishing

The fishing mechanic is now created; we are now just applying further visual and sound effects and working on balancing the gameplay feature.

Here are some top tips to help you catch the rarest fish in Moonfrost:

  1. The bigger the fish, the bigger the reward (most of the time).

  2. Left-clicking will heave the rod, pulling the fish closer, but clicking too often will cause the line to snap (indicated by a color change to red).

  3. Letting the fish get too far out of the circle will cause the line to snap.

Bonus: If the cast action is canceled, it’s because you can’t cast your line in that area (rocks, weeds, etc.).

The Mountain ( NEW MAP)

We’ve just finished adding the next map for Moonfrost, and it’s massive. The Mountain offers players several benefits, but to highlight a few of the important ones:

  1. Zoned progression

  2. Resource gathering

  3. Rewards for exploration

  4. Several fishing locations, each with different types of fish

  5. Future iterations to include a multiplayer map - shared world experiences

    Open Loot

The primary benefit, as we see it, is that Open Loot essentially removes the barriers that usually make Web3 gaming intimidating for Web2 players — like dealing with crypto wallets, gas fees, and complex blockchain interactions.

Let’s break down these three things a little more!

No Need for a Crypto Wallet – Your Items, No Extra Steps

Normally, Web3 games make you set up a crypto wallet (like MetaMask), which is like having to open a whole new bank account just to play a game. With Open Loot, that’s not necessary. When you sign up, it automatically creates a secure wallet for you in the background—no confusing setup, no seed phrases to write down. You just log in like you would for any other game.

No Gas Fees – No Hidden Costs When You Trade or Buy

In most Web3 games, every transaction (like buying or trading an item) comes with a “gas fee,” which is like paying a small toll just to move your own stuff around. Open Loot removes this completely—you can buy, sell, and trade items without worrying about surprise costs. Everything just works, like it would in a regular online game.

NFT Ownership Without the Complexity – Just Think of Them as Game Items

In Web3 games, items are often NFTs (which just means they are uniquely yours and can be traded). But usually, managing them is a pain—you have to learn about wallets, blockchains, and how to “mint” items. With Open Loot, your in-game items still work like normal. If you ever want to sell or trade them, that option is there, but you don’t need to do anything special. If you’ve ever bought a Fortnite skin or a CS:GO knife, it’s pretty much the same experience—except you can actually sell it if you want.

Pay with Regular Money – No Need to Buy Crypto

A lot of Web3 games make you first buy cryptocurrency before you can purchase anything, which is like being told you can’t buy a game on Steam unless you first exchange your pounds or dollars for some weird digital coins. Open Loot skips all that. You can buy items with a credit card, PayPal, or other normal payment methods—just like any other online store.

Blockchain Tech Stays in the Background – You Just Play

In some Web3 games, the blockchain stuff is shoved in your face—you have to manage wallets, approve transactions, and deal with delays. Open Loot makes all of that invisible. You log in, play, earn, buy, and trade just like you would in any other game. The only difference? You actually own your items instead of the game locking them to your account forever.

TL;DR – It allows traditional players to play Web3 games in a familiar way while still benefiting from true asset ownership, trading, and rewards.
